While we offer no compensation or benefits in the traditional sense, our members enjoy a variety of ancillary benefits they find to be greatly valuable such as: 

• The satisfaction of selfless service and its immeasurably positive impact on our community. 
• For professional pro bono contributors, the growth and expansion of professional networks to meet and collaborate with highly competent and often well-connected professionals and retirees. 
• For interns, the opportunity to earn references from demonstrating good work and to build a network for potential job opportunities, as well as to qualify for Federal Work Study grant programs.
• The option to receive a recommendation on LinkedIn and/or a recommendation letter from your team lead or department head after a successful service term delivering results and with proper resignation notice.
• The ability to list JerseySTEM as a professional volunteer opportunity on your resume and LinkedIn bio. 

As a mission driven members led organization, we know and expect that a service term will rarely last forever. Instead, we ask that all volunteers commit to a minimum of 6 months, preferably a year, of service. Absent extenuating circumstances, all resignations require 2 weeks notice minimum. 

All JerseySTEM roles are similar to holding professional part-time positions, and are held to goals and targets as well as similar standards of conduct. The difference is, we are all here not because we have to be, but because we believe in the mission and love to work with each other to do good in our community. Thank you for applying to join us!
