JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.
Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.
Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

This role involves updating content, ensuring site performance, and supporting online fundraising initiatives. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and experienced with Elementor and GiveWP. Your contributions will help amplify our impact and outreach in the community.

The Webmaster is responsible for designing, coding, and modifying the JerseySTEM website, from layout to function. In this role, the Webmaster strives to create a visually appealing site that features user-friendly design and clear navigation.
Volunteer WordPress Website Administrator
Organization: JerseySTEM
Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 30–45 minutes per weekday
Monitor website performance, availability, and security on a daily basis
Update pages, posts, and content using Elementor page builder
Manage and maintain donation functionality via GiveWP
Publish news, events, and blog posts in coordination with content volunteers
Apply routine plugin and WordPress updates, ensuring compatibility
Implement basic security measures and troubleshoot technical issues
Recommend website improvements based on user experience and feedback
Maintain consistency in branding, formatting, and messaging across pages
Required:
Proficiency with WordPress administration
Hands-on experience with Elementor and GiveWP
Understanding of basic website maintenance and SEO best practices
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a virtual team
Preferred:
Experience with nonprofit websites or volunteer-based projects
Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, Slack, or Trello
Basic HTML/CSS knowledge and understanding of web accessibility
This is a pro-bono volunteer position.
