Overview

This is a pro-bono volunteer position.

 JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.

 The Community Engagement Business Development Team Lead provides leadership, direction and planning to identify, reach out to and engage with Middle Schools of interest  that could benefit from our afterschool STEM programs for underserved middle school Girls. They manage a team of Area Managers  responsible for specific regions or specific schools 

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Data Analytics team to identify Schools of interest that could partner with JerseySTEM, amongst New Jersey 2000+ middle schools according to criteria established by the board of Directors..

  • Research schools, identifies stakeholders (School admins)  and locate their contacts

  • Assign schools to Area Managers and agree on targets/goals for the outreach.

  • Partner with Area managers to call on schools identified as targets

  • Participate in the COME leadership team activities

  • Conduct/Attend virtual  team meetings weekly : (Sundays 6pm EST)

 

Qualifications

  • Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap

  • Interest and familiarity with Data and data based decision making

  • Interest and/or familiarity with K-12 school data

  • Strong Analytical skills

  • Resourceful, can-do attitude

  • Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)

  • Would be a plus if candidate has flexible schedule to allow for day time calls with the school admins during the work week

 Time Commitment 

  • 3-6 Hours weekly

  • 6 months minimum
