This is a pro bono volunteer position.

JerseySTEM is seeking a volunteer engagement strategist to develop a plan, partnering with Human Capital Team, for keeping your volunteers active and interested and avoiding volunteer burnout. It starts with orientation, and continues with feedback, check-ins, and recognition. 

Minimum time commitment:  5-7 hours/ week with committed work times, for a minimum 6 months period

What can you expect in a Volunteer Engagement Strategist role at JerseySTEM:

• Conduct meetings with Department Directors to understand the volunteers and goals for each department  
• Analyze existing data, by department, to understand success with current volunteer strategy
• Analyze volunteer engagement rates and what the retention rate is for the organization
• Determine how to measure volunteer engagement success and what long-term success looks like
• Identify weak areas in the current volunteer recruiting process
• Identify how to strengthen communication within the volunteer organization
• Develop plan for volunteer recognition, how do we make our volunteers feel valued

Technical Qualifications:

• Excellent communication, analytical, mentoring and problem-solving skills
• Data Analysis background preferred
• Experience with volunteer engagement preferred
• Experience in fully-remote organizations preferred
