This is a pro-bono volunteer position.

 

Join us in making a difference and empowering young girls in their STEM journey! At JerseySTEM, we welcome professionals, active or retired, who are interested in contributing their professional skills to our mission of providing STEM education to middle school girls in underrepresented communities.

As a JerseySTEM volunteer, you have the opportunity to contribute your unique skills and interests to support our cause. Together, we can create a brighter future for the next generation of female leaders in STEM.

This Board Role Volunteer role allows you to support our organization in various capacities based on your skills, interests, and availability.

Responsibilities

Depending on their  background and interests, our 100 volunteers perform any of the following:

  • Assist in organizing and participating in outreach events to promote STEM education
  • Support fundraising initiatives and campaigns to help raise funds for our programs.
  • Contribute to content creation and social media management to increase our online presence.
  • Provide administrative support, such as data entry and documentation.
  • Assist in program planning and execution, including logistics and coordination.
  • Participate in workshops, webinars, and training sessions as needed.
  • Engage with students and mentors to create a positive learning environment.
  • Help with event coordination and logistics.
  • Support curriculum development and educational material preparation.

Qualifications

  • Availability to commit remotely 4-6 hours per week  for 6 month (a school semester)  based on your schedule.
  • Passion for promoting gender equality and STEM education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as an individual contributor or as a team lead.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new challenges.
  • Basic computer and digital literacy.
