JerseySTEM is seeking a skilled Agile Coach & Subject Matter Expert to help develop and implement agile practices across all of JerseySTEM. The Assistant Director: Agile Practices role reports to the Head of Operational Excellence, is a servant leader for a team of volunteer scrum masters & agilests, and is responsible for:
Mentoring and developing junior Scrum Masters
Implementing practices associated with scrum, kanban, SAFe, and other agile frameworks
/ methodologies.
Owning ‘continuous improvement’ frameworks across all JerseySTEM departments.
Establishing metrics, reports, dashboards, and communications associated with team
performance, development, and delivery.
Champion the use of JIRA and other work management systems; standardizing workflows, issue type hierarchies, estimation, intake, and capacity planning / road mapping efforts.
The Agile Pracitces Assistant Director is a key role within the OPEX department; collaborating with OPEX Leads from the PMO, RPA, and Business Process Automation teams to establish best practices, optimize existing processes, and create new & modern ways of working within JerseySTEM.
The candidate will have demonstrated expertise and application of Agile methodologies, techniques and frameworks, a successful track record of driving and facilitating teams, commitment to continuous learning and mindset of relentless improvement.
What can you expect in an Agile Coach role at JerseySTEM:
Implementing practices associated with scrum, kanban, SAFe, and other agile frameworks / methodologies.
Owning ‘continuous improvement’ frameworks across all JerseySTEM departments.
Establishing metrics, reports, dashboards, and communications associated with team
performance, development, and delivery.
Champion the use of JIRA and other work management systems; standardizing
workflows, issue type hierarchies, estimation, intake, and capacity planning / road
mapping efforts.
Conduct weekly meetings with the Scrum Masters and monitor the health of the Agile teams.
Train new Scrum Master and team members ensuring understanding of Kanban, JIRA and other tools the team may be utilizing
Ensure consistency with the teams, Scrum Masters and Team Leads
Identify process and communications issues
Identify opportunities for improvement and be “THE CHAMPION OF CHANGE”.
Minimum time commitment: 5-7 hours/ week with committed work times, for a
minimum 6 months period.
