JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.

Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.

Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.

 

We are seeking a talented Jira System Admin Team Lead to play a crucial role in our organization's operations. As the Team Lead, you will oversee a team of Jira System Administrators responsible for maintaining and optimizing our Jira system. Your expertise will ensure the smooth functioning of our project management processes and enable us to deliver high-quality STEM programs to our students.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Jira System Administrators, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project management needs and implement effective Jira solutions.
  • Configure and customize Jira to meet the organization's requirements, including workflows, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Administer user access, permissions, and security settings within Jira.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular system maintenance.
  • Stay up-to-date with Jira best practices and emerging features to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Jira functionality and best practices.
  • Document Jira configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the Jira System Admin team.
  • 5-6 hours per week, 6-12 month commitment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Jira System Administrator, with Jira Administrator certification preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in configuring and customizing Jira, including workflows, schemes, and automation rules.
  • Experience with Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
