JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.

Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.

Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

This is a pro-bono volunteer position. 

 

JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.

 

We are seeking a dynamic Slack Team Lead to join our organization and lead our Slack communication platform. As the Team Lead, you will oversee the efficient use of Slack across the organization, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for Slack administration and support.
  • Develop and implement Slack best practices and guidelines for the organization.
  • Configure and customize Slack channels, integrations, and workflows to optimize communication.
  • Administer user access, permissions, and security settings within Slack.
  • Monitor Slack usage and provide training and support to team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Slack with other communication tools and platforms.
  • Stay current with Slack updates and new features to enhance organizational productivity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any Slack-related issues or technical challenges.
  • Foster a culture of effective communication and knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Document Slack configurations, policies, and procedures.
  • 5-6 hours per week, 6-12 month commitment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Slack Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong expertise in configuring and customizing Slack channels, bots, and integrations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in training and supporting end-users on Slack usage.
  • Slack certification is a plus.
