JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.

Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.

Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

Overview

This is an unpaid position. 

 

This pro bono/unpaid position oversees the sourcing and recruiting function at JerseySTEM This position has the opportunity to scale a team of Recruiters to support the JerseySTEM’s mission, and have the opportunity to bring creative ideas to develop recruiting programs and streamline processes associated with the entire recruitment function.


Please note: This is an unpaid, pro-bono position. You are applying to become a Member of the JerseySTEM organization, a network of professionals contributing their time and skills to promote access to STEM education to underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. The minimum duration of membership is 6 months. If after interviewing you are admitted to join JerseySTEM and chose to move forward, you will be required to make a refundable deposti of $100 USD that you can recoup at the end of the intial 6 months term.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan and execute recruitment and HR specific projects in close collaboration with Head of HR
  • Lead weekly planning meetings with recruitment managers and provide clear communications/updates and project plans outlining key milestones and deliverables
  • Participate/Lead weekly meetings with the recruitment team to track progress and provide guidance & course correction. Ensure adoption of new processes by the recruitment team.
  • Provide project plan updates to Senior Leadership where applicable
  • Poweruser for our Applicant Tracking System (we are using iCIMS) and support and lead any system related training and projects where applicable
  • Partners with Talent Management, Internship Manager and Other Human Capital teams

Qualifications

  • Confidence to independently create and lead training and workshops 
  • Familiarity with ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) and project management tools
  • Good understanding of Talent Acquisition and HR 
  • Work experience from a Talent Acquisition/Recruiting Operations capacity required, proven track record as a Talent Acquisition Project Manager strongly preferred 
  • Excellent communication (oral/written) skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Experience with start-up/non-profit environment is a big plus

 

 

Commitment: 

  • About 6 hours per week (Inclusive of the 2-3 weekly meetings)
  • 2-3 regular weekly meetings
  • 6+ months min. commitment
